No Joke: Margot Kidder Has Died At 69

Livingston MT— Actress Margot Kidder, famous for playing Lois Lane to Christopher Reeve’s Superman in the 1970s and 1980s, has died. She was 69. The cause has not yet been disclosed. 

Born and raised in Canada, she won two Canadian Film Awards for her work in “Black Christmas” and “A Quiet Day in Belfast.” Besides appearing in “Superman,” “Superman II,” “Superman III” and “Superman IV: The Quest for Peace,” Kidder also appeared in “The Clown at Midnight,” “The Great Waldo Pepper,” “RECOiL” and “Trenchcoat.”

Kidder appeared in such television shows as “Barnaby Jones,” “Murder, She Wrote,” “Touched By An Angel” and “Brothers and Sisters.” She won an Emmy Awarding 2015 for her work in “R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour.” 

She was married and divorced three times, and is survived by her daughter, Maggie McGuane.
