Mace And Taser Brands Team Up To Produce Mazer. Or Tace. Name To Be Determined

Maser/Tace

Tace: by the makers of Mace with the help of Taser. Maser: from the good people who make Taser in conjunction with the makers of Mace.

New York—The two respective companies that manufacture personal safety equipment Mace and the Taser confirmed reports yesterday that they have developed a new security device that combines the best features of both products and brought them together “to form one, quasi-lethal personal safety weapon against assault that will change the game forever. Muggers and attackers, watch out!”

A press release put out simultaneously by both companies touted the new product as “what America has been waiting for when it comes to fighting the war on bad guys.”

The press release did not provide specifics, but a source familiar with the new product confirmed that it will come in a spray container like Mace does, but will have the jolt and electricity of a Taser. “Imagine silly string with enough voltage to make you wet yourself,” the source said. Fat, Ugly Attorney Suing Former Employer Over Getting Fired For Being Fat And Ugly

Exhibit A

Exhibit A in the Everett Holsenbeck’s case is this promotional photo taken for the law firm he works for. Helsenbeck claims this picture proves both how he was shunned by his coworkers and how he is not the ugliest lawyer at the firm. (It’s clearly Karen, right? What is going on with that hair?)

Houston—Everett Holsenbeck said he knows he’ll never be on any fashion magazine covers. He conceded he’s not the best-looking lawyer in his law school graduating class, or the most handsome attorney at his former law firm. But that’s no reason to get fired.

And so he’s filed suit against his former employer, Posnanski, Tilghman and Jenkins, PA, alleging that he was fired because he wasn’t attractive enough.

It’s no secret, Holsenbeck said, that lawyers are told judges and juries have higher opinions of attractive, stylish attorneys. “Every law professor I ever knew stressed to some degree the importance of a nice suit, of looking good, of chick lawyers wearing heels and short skirts,” Holsenbeck said. “But once I got the job, I figured my track record, my work (ethic) and my good talking skills would keep me employed. I had no idea I still had to keep up appearances like I was trying to get (romantic with a woman).”

Cowboys “Quarterback” Tony Romo Excited For Season To Start, Says 16-Game Regular Season “Plenty Long Enough”

Tony Romo

Tony Romo shares the same dream as any other NFL Quarterback: To win the U.S. Open golf championship.

Oxnard, CA—With expectations as high as ever for the Dallas Cowboys as they head into the NFL season, star quarterback Tony Romo said he’s excited to start the season, but thinks all the talk of extending the number of games in the regular season to 18 or 20 is premature and silly.

“I can’t even imagine playing more than 16 games in one season,” Romo said after taking a break about seven minutes into practice yesterday. “I don’t understand guys who talk about wanting to play more games. Sixteen games is plenty. I have a life, you know.”

Romo said he’s “dog tired” come the end of January, when the regular season winds down. He said he really enjoys sitting at home during the NFL playoffs and watching his peers “play world-class football. I’m a fan, too. It’s fun to watch.”

Romo points to the annual Super Bowl party he hosts, and said it’s his favorite part of the entire football season. Plus, he has other interests, including golf, to keep him busy during the offseason.

Neil Armstrong Dies On Earth At The Age Of 82

Neil Armstrong

Little known fact: NASA originally intended to fake the moon landing to save time and money. They hired up-and-coming filmmaker Brian DiMaio (left, shown with astronaut Neil Armstrong, right) to pull off the hoax. The results were so poor that NASA was forced to go through with the actual trip to the moon.

Cincinnati, OH—Astronaut Neil Armstrong, who famously set foot on the moon on July 20, 1969, died Sunday after complications arose from heart-bypass surgery earlier this month. He was 82.

It’s really hard to add to any legacy or top any achievement that reads, “First man to set foot on the moon,” but we have some space to fill, so here you go:

Armstrong served in the Navy as a pilot during the Korean War and earned three medals. After the war he got his aeronautical engineering degree from Purdue University. He was selected by NASA in September 1962 to be an astronaut, and first went into space in the Gemini 8 mission in 1966. He landed on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission.
